dvd-thing

I have no idea. Was bored. created this.

runs on wayland. needs wlr-layer-shell, so: KDE (tested), sway, hyprland. does not work on gnome, mutter doesn't implement wlr-layer-shell and never will, so it just errors out on startup.

what it does? it bounces a dvd logo around the screen, that's it.

no logo ships with this repo, the dvd logo is a trademark, not mine to hand out under MIT. drop a png at:

~/.config/dvd-thing/logo.png

or point at one:

DVD_LOGO=/path/to/logo.png dvd-thing

white-on-transparent works best: the alpha channel is the shape, the rgb is thrown away and replaced by the bouncing colour cycle. with no logo configured you just get a rectangle.

you can always put whatever image you want in there.
