3b71f29f4c fix: capacities single-sourced in types (display MAX_WINDOWS/BUFFER_PAGES, storage MAX_CLIENTS), display + storage budgets derived from them, const asserts on VA layouts; kernel regions 64 -> 256 2026-10-28 16:06:55 +01:00
18e8b3ecb8 feat(desktop): home app (system-only launch cap, LAUNCH_BADGE: apps+launch only), pm starts it with session (relaunch <=5); display keys F1/Alt+Tab next, F2 home, F4 close app (ROLE from launcher, terminal exempt), close returns to previous window; closed window -> app exits; shell 'name &'; launch by id; pm stack 8, storage 16 clients 2026-10-28 15:50:05 +01:00
4030dd4315 feat(adapter): init+storage packed into kernel image; drop adapter FAT16 reader + virtio-blk 2026-10-27 16:58:11 +01:00
a4f467f45d feat(userspace): log server sole console holder; init boots from manifest; adapter loads only init+storage 2026-10-27 15:40:19 +01:00
4049ba5007 feat(kernel): per-process budgets (pages, endpoints, notifs, regions) carved from creator, returned on death; init owns pool 2026-10-27 15:08:58 +01:00
7415bab7f5 feat(kernel): console cap gates DebugPutchar, no uart fast path; spawn start arg in a0; delegate returns slot 2026-10-27 14:54:36 +01:00
2e665fd66e feat: SMP stage 1 (4 harts, per-hart guarded stacks, home-core affinity, IPIs, TLB shootdown, one temporary kernel lock), 4-core storm 2026-10-27 00:56:15 +01:00
b87a62475f feat(adapter): higher-half kernel (linked at PHYS_OFFSET, boot trampoline, no low mappings), fix SBI ecall clobbers 2026-10-27 00:25:20 +01:00
8d2c40cb1e feat(kernel): kernel-owned memory model
- FrameTable: per-frame owner/use, replaces PagePool + ProcessMemory
- Quota per process, page tables charged to owner
- Regions for shared mem + device MMIO, torn down w/ owner
- Platform: create/destroy AS, map/unmap, zero_frame; drop translate_va
- RequestPages/ReleasePages/MapPage(move) checked vs kernel records
- user window 0x1000..32MiB, private pts by construction
- boot loader + device setup go through kernel api
- kernel built in place, boot allocator bounded
- isolation tests, randomized invariant test, FrameTable kani proofs
- fixes: inflated release, unmapped release, dst va unchecked,
  heap overflow, unbounded pt alloc, unzeroed frames, double free

f5ac7189a9 fix: VirtIO GPU driver and snake rendering through display server
- Fix swapped command IDs: attach_backing was 0x0104 (FLUSH),
  resource_flush was 0x0106 (ATTACH_BACKING). Now correct.
- Increase process stack from 4 pages (16 KB) to 16 pages (64 KB)
  to prevent stack overflow in display process.
- Restructure display-qemu to avoid MockFramebuffer's 32 KB array
  inflating the VirtIO path's stack frame.
- Wire snake app to render through display server via IPC instead
  of UART escape codes. Uses existing renderer.rs pixel renderer.
- Init now delegates display endpoint to snake process.

ea2ac5d1d9 fix: harden kernel — eliminate UB, proper process cleanup
Critical: kernel_ref() UB eliminated
- kernel_ref() returned &'static mut, creating aliasing mutable
  references across trap handler + boot code (13+ call sites)
- Replaced with kernel_ptr() -> *mut Kernel, each use site does
  explicit unsafe { &mut *kernel_ptr() }
- KernelCell: removed get_mut(), added as_ptr() -> *mut T
- UB is gone: raw pointer access makes the single-core invariant
  explicit at every use site

Important: process cleanup on exit/fault
- New destroy_process() method consolidates cleanup:
  - Removes all threads from scheduler and endpoints
  - Clears pending messages and results
  - Destroys process and frees ProcessMemory
- handle_exit and handle_fault both use destroy_process()
- handle_exit_thread uses destroy_process when last thread exits

IPC hardening:
- Added invariant comment on pending_messages[sender].take()
  (sender in wait queue must have a pending message)

handle_release_pages:
- Now uses translate_va to convert VA→PA (was treating VA as PA)

8d53fa9ac5 refactor(adapter-riscv): split kmain into boot/, devices/ modules
kmain is now 20 lines — six function calls:

  hardware::init → BSS, MMU, traps, timer, PLIC, kernel
  loader::load_init → read init.elf, create process, map ELF
  loader::load_server → read server ELF, create process, map ELF
  storage_setup         → VirtIO block re-init, shared buffer, phys-info
  gpu_setup → VirtIO GPU init, framebuffer alloc, phys-info
  caps::grant_all       → endpoints, capability grants

New modules:
  boot/hardware.rs — hardware init (BSS, MMU, traps, kernel)
  boot/loader.rs     — ELF loading, thread setup, enter_userspace
  boot/caps.rs — endpoint creation, capability grants
  devices/storage_setup.rs — VirtIO block for storage server
  devices/gpu_setup.rs — VirtIO GPU for display server

All unsafe contained in hw/, mmu/, trap/. Boot and device
modules call safe wrappers.
